Summary

The party confirmed Polly — who bamfs away whenever Icarus tries to "cuddle it with his teeth" — as the source of the "pieces of six" whispers. Handled gently, she landed on Icarus's shoulder and called him "daddy." Koa urged them to stay on Mintan, refusing to face the sea and The Great Devourer, but the Boner Bros planned their escape. Dave was too "wrecked" to fly, and a PTERODACTYL KOA polymorph plan failed on spell-duration grounds, so they resigned themselves to a raft. They foraged for two days (poisonous fish, more tainted Ankheg meat, and "10 human kebabs" made from the dead mage guards). A now surprisingly eloquent Koa bid them a tearful farewell.

At sea, the night brought visions: Rik dreamt of an oasis where water turned to blood; Icarus dreamt of a kaleidoscopic world and a yellow butterfly. Icarus woke voiceless to find Gearsley magically held by Skum as the Sovereign Prophet boarded, flanked by sahuagin. While the others slept, the Prophet delivered an ultimatum: Icarus has one lunar cycle to find the thief who stole the amulet and deliver them to him — this "tithe" would pay his debt. As a final clue, the Prophet advised him to "head northeast." Then massive tentacles destroyed the raft, and the party was consumed by a black hole lined with teeth.
