Session 4: Bottom Feeders

In short: Murder accusations, the Sovereign Prophet revealed, Captain Siren Shellsword devoured — the party is scattered.

Summary

After a long rest, the party was summoned to deck by Captain Siren Shellsword: Riptide and Sauriv had been murdered overnight and the amulet was missing. Krell publicly accused the party — citing Rik's drinking with the guard, the wrestling match with Sauriv, his missing wyrmling Chomp, and Icarus's mysterious escape from his cage. The crew turned hostile and a battle for survival began.

It was interrupted from the depths. The Sovereign Prophet of The Great Devourer announced himself with a disembodied voice, heralding Sha'Argan, a massive sea monster, and declaring the ship marked as "a meal." The Captain was revealed to be in league with the Prophet, having promised 40 men as sacrifice; for falling short, the Prophet had the Devourer snatch and consume him. Icarus tried to bargain for the party's lives but the Prophet would not be persuaded.

The Prophet's sahuagin began throwing the crew overboard to feed the monster. The party was forcibly split: Blackjack was rescued by mysterious (and wildly attractive) sea elves (Vespera and Kaelen), while the rest escaped the plank by leaping onto Dave and flying away.
